Camila’s work centres on innovative approaches to sustainability in textile manufacturing. She collaborated with a designer to explore colouring fabrics with bacteria, incorporating ancestral eco-friendly pigments to address the issue of water waste in dyeing.

Partnering with a local university, she developed a programme that engaged schoolchildren from diverse backgrounds in exploring emotions through art.

The resulting artworks were transformed into textiles, which were exhibited and reproduced to support the children’s schools, creating an emotionally and socially sustainable product.

Through the support of the Creatives for Our Future programme, Camila is advancing three impactful projects: bacterial dyes and waste management, art therapy for children through textiles, and the production of a sustainable Panama hat. Each reflects her commitment to community building, sustainability, and creating meaningful connections through design.
