Osasumwen Obasogie

Osasumwen is an entrepreneur from Nigeria with a degree in mechanical engineering from Landmark University. His project, Ina'Vibe, is designed to address the energy challenges faced by the 620 million Africans who lack access to reliable electricity and rely on harmful kerosene lamps. These lamps not only produce dim light but also pose health risks. Ina'Vibe is a lightweight, portable cooking burner and stove that uses a thermo-electric generator to harness waste heat energy, converting it into clean, sustainable electricity. This innovative solution provides an eco-friendly alternative, offering a safer and more efficient way to light homes and improve regional energy access.

The Ina'Vibe project offers an innovative solution to the lack of electricity in many rural areas, providing a sustainable and accessible power source. Using a built-in USB connector, the device generates 10-15 watts of electricity, which can power energy-saving light bulbs or charge small devices like cell phones. This practical design makes Ina'Vibe versatile and essential for communities with limited access to reliable electricity.

With support from the Creatives for Our Future programme, Osasumwen has refined the Ina'Vibe project, developing an affordable and renewable energy generator tailored to meet the needs of underserved communities.

By addressing the critical issue of energy poverty, he aims to improve daily life, reduce reliance on harmful kerosene lamps, and promote clean, sustainable energy solutions.

Sustainability means clean, renewable and ecologically balanced. I'm concerned about energy as it's the heart of the problem, and energy systems worldwide should all be sustainable.
