Yara Mohamed Ewida
Yara is an architect with a passion for innovative design and sustainable solutions. She graduated with first-class honours in Architecture from MSA University in Egypt. During her academic journey, Yara actively participated in various national and international workshops and competitions across Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and the United Kingdom. Her work spans diverse topics, including heritage revival, urban regeneration, sustainable design, and integrating innovative technological solutions in architecture. Yara’s multidisciplinary approach reflects her passion for creating spaces that respond to the needs of their users but also contribute positively to the environment and communities.

Yara has co-organised several workshops exploring the concept of “spatial prophylaxis” in architectural and urban design, particularly in response to the challenges posed by the pandemic. She also leads workshops teaching origami techniques for model-making, combining her passion for craftsmanship with architectural innovation.
Yara completed her Master’s in Bio-digital Architecture at UIC University in Barcelona, where she focused on integrating design and function through bio-learning. Her studies explored how architecture and urban design can evolve to better align with ecological principles and human needs.
After discovering architecture's detrimental impact on the natural environment, Yara is driven to create synergetic architectural solutions that benefit humans and nature. She is particularly interested in using coral reefs as a model for sustainable design.
Through the Creatives for Our Future programme, Yara has developed Bio-Rock tiles, a pioneering approach for growing coral that can restore marine habitats and bio-diverse underwater ecosystems, offering a new way to support the environment and biodiversity.

My goal is to eliminate the use of non-renewable sources of energy and reduce the use of materials with high value of carbon emissions.
